[Photo credit: Scott Morency – not for re-use] (Charlton, MA) – Tree House Brewing Co. debuted “Somewhere, Something Incredible is Waiting to be Known,” a 7.9% ABV milk stout, on Wednesday. The beer is limited to two cans per person while it lasts. The beer name has a fun backstory, according to QuoteInvestigator . The name is a quote that has often been attributed wrongly to the late astronomer, Carl Sagan, but was never found in his texts. It originally appeared in a Newsweek article written by a team of reporters about Sagan and was later claimed as original by one of the reporters. You can read the full story here. Beer description: This new American Stout is intended to complement the character of the season and the Thanksgiving tradition. Brewed with pale, caramel, and roasted malts and conditioned with a blend of chocolate, vanilla and our favorite freshly roasted...

Scofflaw expanding again with new brew house, increasing annual capacity to 30k bbl’s

Scofflaw Brewing l. to r. -- Joe McIntyre, J.P. Watts, Co-founders Matt Shirah, Travis Herman BeerPulse
[Scofflaw Brewing l. to r. — Joe McIntyre, J.P. Watts, Co-founders Matt Shirah, Travis Herman] (Atlanta, GA) – Plans are in place for a third expansion at Scofflaw Brewing Company , the Georgia brewery growing at a rapid pace and known for its IPAs and barrel-aged stouts. The brewery has a new 50-barrel, four-vessel brewhouse under construction at BrewFab, scheduled to be installed by Mar. 1 at the current brewing facility in the Bolton neighborhood of Atlanta on the city’s Westside. Eight additional 100-barrel fermentation tanks plus new bright tanks will also be installed, starting in November. The third expansion in the first 18 months of operation will double the brewery’s current capacity to 30,000 barrels per year. “We came up against capacity constraints when we opened with 6,500 barrels and at 12,000 barrels and again at 16,000 barrels,” said co-founder Matt Shirah. “Each time we’ve added fermentation tanks, we’ve...

Angel City Sunbather cans BeerPulse
(Los Angeles, CA) – Angelenos know how powerful a pair can be – Kobe and Shaq, avocado and toast, Venice Beach and Abbot Kinney. This holiday season, Angel City Brewery is releasing another dynamic LA duo, Baltic Porter and Sunbather #2. These two distinct beers will have your December drink needs covered, with the first perfect for seasonal sipping and the second a quintessential quencher. Four-packs of 16 oz. cans will be released on Saturday, December 16th from 12-4 pm. The first of the duo is Baltic Porter, an exceptionally dark beer with a black opaque appearance and slightly smoky aroma. Unlike traditional porters, Baltic porters use lager yeast which results in a velvety smooth and slightly sweet beer. Featuring notes of dark chocolate, licorice and toasted bread, this porter is brewed with a variety of malt, including pale chocolate malt, wheat, beechwood smoked malt, CaraFoam and black pearl. Upland Crimson and Prim sour ales released just in time for the holidays

Upland Crimson and Prim BeerPulse
(Bloomington, IN) — Upland Brewing Co. closes out 2017 with two sour ale releases that will make upcoming holiday meals more merry, bright, and flavorful. Crimson and Prim will be available in all of Upland’s distribution areas by mid-November, including new markets Texas, Michigan, South Carolina, and Oklahoma. Both beers can be found in 500ml bottles. “The holiday season largely revolves around food with family and friends, and we wanted to brew beers that we want to bring to the table, and that’s why we’re releasing Crimson and Prim,” said Dusty Howe, Upland’s National Sales Manager. “Both accentuate flavors in a variety of dishes, from grazing appetizers to savory and decadent desserts.” Crimson, formerly released as Malefactor, is an American take on a Belgian Flanders-style Red Ale. Upland’s twist on this classic brewing style is aging the beer in previously used bourbon barrels, which contributes to a slightly higher ABV...
